Jurying Philosophy & Process
At Sommer Haus Gallery, we honor the creative spirit and the courage it takes to share your work. Our jurying process is designed to be fair, thoughtful, and rooted in respect for artistic diversity.
Each exhibition is curated and juried by Creative Director Carol Fox Henrichs, along with a rotating committee of artists, curators, and arts professionals—some of whom serve anonymously to ensure a broad, unbiased perspective.
We evaluate each submission on its own merit, with attention to:
- Originality & Concept – Is the work fresh, thoughtful, or emotionally resonant?
- Technical Skill – Does the artist demonstrate command of their medium?
- Composition & Design – Is the visual structure strong and intentional?
- Emotional or Visual Impact – Does the piece invite a response, reflection, or pause?
- Presentation – Is the image clean, well-lit, and professionally submitted?
- Cohesion – For series or collections, do the works complement each other and the theme?
Our goal is to curate exhibitions that are compelling and visually rich—highlighting work from artists at all stages of their creative journey.
Please note: While we value every submission, jurors do not provide individual feedback. We appreciate your trust in us and look forward to seeing your vision come to life.
